Jog Falls, Shimoga, KA, India

Jog Falls is the second-highest waterfall in India, Located in Shimoga District, Karnataka. Beautiful scenic place. Best season to visit is between Jun and Dec. These are rainy months. On other months the falls dries up because of the near by dams. 

We visited Jog falls in Sep, 2012 and had a great experience. It is 340 km away from Bangalore Airport. Roads are decent but not perfect from Bangalore to Jog Falls. Because of the road conditions  it will take somewhere between 6 to 9 hrs from Bangalore depending on your driving style. Being little far from the city has it's pluses too. It is far from the maddening crowd!

Shivagange Hills is 2 to 3 hours drive from Bangalore depending on the road condition. We have visited this place exactly after two years this July, 2014. Nothing much has been changed and the place looked even more prettier because of the recent rains. Very green and treat to the eyes especially for the people from city. It is better to start the climb little early in the morning if you want to climb all the way up. But because of continuous drizzle we were not able to reach the peak. Devarayanadurga Temple, Tumkur

Travel Date: 2 Jan 2016 Devarayanadurga is a hill which is situated in Tumkur and has two popular temples. Devarayanadurga is located at a distance of 65 km from Bangalore. The temple is said to be around 2000 years old. This temple’s architecture is in Dravidian style, faces east, constructed by Kanthirava Narasaraja I.
