Jog Falls is the second-highest waterfall in India, Located in Shimoga District, Karnataka. Beautiful scenic place. Best season to visit is between Jun and Dec. These are rainy months. On other months the falls dries up because of the near by dams.  We visited Jog falls in Sep, 2012 and had a great experience. It is 340 km away from Bangalore Airport. Roads are decent but not perfect from Bangalore to Jog Falls. Because of the road conditions  it will take somewhere between 6 to 9 hrs from Bangalore depending on your driving style. Travel date: July, 2012 About the place Nice hilly place away from the city crowd. Very good hike.
